Pump Vegetable Oil with Confidence
This WVO Pump is built to move thick liquids such as used oil, and is thoroughly tested to work perfectly in this application. Many transfer pumps blow fuses or overheat with vegetable oil - not this one. This WVO Pump is built by Fill-Rite, and will stay pumping at up to 3.5 gallons per minute. Gear oil design is rugged and easy to maintain. Transfer Pump is also good for diesel, gasoline, mineral spirits, kerosene, motor oil, lubricants, or water.

Will this Pump Vegetable Oil?
Be aware that many pumps just can not do this job well. Most pumps are full of plastic parts that melt when they are overworked by a thicker liquid. For this reason choose pumps that are designed specifically for thicker applications, such as Gear Oil and these oil pumps. This pump will perform best when the vegetable oil is fluid.Pump Options?
This pump allows you to filter "on the go" as it is 12V which can be powered by a car battery. If you will be primarily plugging into power at home, choose a plug in pump. Oil Source?
Finding free fuel is an exciting prospect, and it is a skill that anyone can learn. There is bit of a learning curve, but as any veggie enthusiast will tell you - research first, try it out, be persistent, and you ll be able to spot and filter good veggie like a pro! Filtering in Winter?
Oil filters best when it is thin. When it is cooler or cold out the oil becomes thicker which makes filters unnecessarily clog quicker and pumps work too hard. To mitigate this collect during the day when the sun has the opportunity to warm the container, or use a "bucket heater" to warm the oil up first.

Vegetable Oil can be very sticky on any surface it comes in contact with. It will stain clothing and fabric, as well as garages, driveways, and wood. Be aware of this when filtering as minor precautions can save you alot of mess. For instance, wear gloves, wait for drips to fall before moving hoses, and put down cardboard or a plastic sheet around an area that you use to filter - or choose an area that is okay to get messy, or can be power-washed to be cleaned.
